National Desk: Four men, including two brothers, were killed in a tragic road accident after an unidentified speeding vehicle ran over them while they were changing a flat tyre on a pickup truck in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district.
The incident took place late Tuesday night near Trilokpur village. According to police, pickup driver Anwar (40) and his companion Ehsan (42) were transporting folding cots to Kanpur when their vehicle suffered a flat tyre.
They sought help from two mechanics, Sabir (30) and Akbar (32), who were brothers, to replace the damaged tyre. While the four men were working on the roadside, an unidentified vehicle struck them at high speed, leaving all of them critically injured.
The victims were rushed to the district hospital by ambulance, where doctors declared all four dead.
Circle Officer Satyendra Tiwari said the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered against the unidentified driver based on a complaint filed by the victims’ family members.
Police are examining CCTV footage and other evidence to identify the vehicle involved. Further investigation is underway.
