National Desk: Huge Cache of Illegal Liquor Seized in Delhi’s Bawana and Narela, Two Arrested The Outer North District Police of Delhi have seized a large quantity of illegal liquor from the Bawana and Narela areas. In Bawana, police intercepted an Ashok Leyland mini-truck carrying 5,200 quarters of illicit liquor, while in Narela, a tempo was caught transporting 3,500 quarters and 360 bottles (equivalent to 30 cartons). The liquor containers were labeled “For Sale in Haryana Only,” indicating illegal transportation across state lines.
Both drivers of the vehicles have been arrested. One of the accused hails from Burari, Delhi, while the other is a resident of Jind district in Haryana.
According to DCP Outer North District, Hareshwar V. Swami, the operation was initiated based on a tip-off received from a confidential informant. The information suggested that a mini-truck loaded with premium illegal liquor would arrive in Bawana for distribution. Acting swiftly on this intelligence, the police laid a trap and successfully intercepted the vehicle.
Further investigation is underway to identify the source of the liquor and any larger networks involved in this illegal trade.
