Sangrur, 18 JUNE 2025 FACT RECORDER
Deputy Commissioner Shri Sandeep Rishi informed that under the Punjab Government’s e-Governance initiative, six new services of the Revenue Department and 29 services of the Transport Department have been launched at Sewa Kendras across the state. The Punjab Government is continuously expanding citizen services through Sewa Kendras by rapidly advancing e-Governance initiatives.

Providing details of the Revenue Department services, the Deputy Commissioner stated that six new services can now be availed through Sewa Kendras. One of the major updates is that digital Fard (land ownership record) can now be obtained from Sewa Kendras and will also be sent directly to the applicant’s WhatsApp number.

Other services include:

  • Applying for inheritance mutation at Sewa Kendras.

  • Applying for mutation based on a registered deed.

  • Making corrections in land records through Fard Badr (entry modification).

  • Applying for a Rapat (report entry), which is often required for loans or court cases.

  • A new subscription service where landowners can secure their land account by registering it; if any transaction or tampering is attempted with their land account, they will immediately receive an alert via WhatsApp or email.

These initiatives aim to keep citizens informed and updated about their land-related matters from anywhere.

The Deputy Commissioner added that continuous efforts are being made to provide improved public services. People can also avail these services from the comfort of their homes by dialing 1076, where they can book services as per their convenient time. A minimal additional fee of ₹50 is charged for doorstep service.

Currently, the Sangrur district has a total of 27 Sewa Kendras, including one district-level Type-1 center, 12 Type-2 centers, and 14 Type-3 centers. Citizens can visit these centers to access a variety of government services.
