Punjab Desk: Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Punjab, District Faridkot, in collaboration with Atma, is organizing a district-level Kisan Mela on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 9 am under the directions of S. Jaswant Singh, Director Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Punjab, regarding the proper cultivation of Rabi crops. The Chief Agricultural Officer’s Office, Circular Road, Faridkot will be the chief guest of this Kisan Mela. The Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan will be the chief guest and this camp will be inaugurated by Madam Poonamdeep Kaur, Deputy Commissioner, Faridkot. MLA Faridkot S. Gurdit Singh Sekhon and MLA Jaito S. Amolak Singh will be the special guests in the fair . This fair will be presided over by Dr. Narinderpal Singh Benipal, Joint Director Agriculture (PP), who will explain about the schemes being run by the Punjab Government in the interest of farmers .
Giving information in this regard, Dr. Kulwant Singh Sandhu, Chief Agriculture Officer, said that in this Kisan Mela, farmers will be given technical and latest information regarding Rabi crops. Agricultural experts of the Agriculture Department will give detailed information to the farmers about the method of sowing Rabi crops , proper use of water and fertilizers and to protect the crops from pests/diseases . They will also be told about the agricultural machinery and wheat seeds available on subsidy during Rabi sowing. During this, exhibitions will also be organized by various departments and private companies for the convenience of the farmers. He appealed to the farmer brothers to participate in this district level camp on cultivation of vegetables , gardens , allied businesses , coarse grains and crop diversification and get maximum benefit from it. On this occasion, Dr. Amandeep Keshav, PD Atma was also present.
