Office of District Public Relations Officer, Faridkot Faridkot,25 August 2025 Fact Recorder
Punjab Desk: District Magistrate Faridkot, Madam Poonamdeep Kaur, exercising the powers vested under Section 163 of the Indian Citizen Safety Code 2023, has issued orders to ensure preventive measures against diseases caused due to garbage, filth, and stagnant dirty water accumulated in privately owned/vacant plots within the limits of Faridkot district.
As per the orders, owners/occupants of vacant plots in the city must ensure immediate cleaning of garbage heaps, dirt, and stagnant rainwater collected in their plots at their own level. They must also construct a proper boundary wall or fencing around their plots to prevent accumulation of waste and garbage.
District Magistrate Madam Poonamdeep Kaur stated that in various areas of the city, garbage, filth, and dirty water often accumulate in vacant plots owned/occupied by different individuals. This results in the breeding of harmful insects and pests that spread several diseases like Dengue, Malaria, Chikungunya, etc. Such diseases pose a serious and life-threatening risk to the health of city residents.
Therefore, to prevent the spread of these diseases, it is necessary to clean such vacant plots. In view of this situation, these orders have been issued. The orders will remain effective till October 14, 2025.
