Punjab Desk: It is very important for every individual to stay alert and aware in order to effectively deal with natural disasters. With this aim in mind, the ‘SACHET’ mobile application developed by the National Disaster Management Authority provides up-to-date information on natural disasters and weather conditions.
Sharing this information, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kulwant Singh, IAS, said that the SACHET app alerts users in advance about potential natural calamities such as floods, cyclones, tsunamis, forest fires, landslides, thunderstorms, storms, and lightning strikes. He added that the app also provides information in regional languages.
The Deputy Commissioner further stated that all weather updates from the Meteorological Department can be accessed through this application. Users receive alerts based on the current weather conditions in their area. The app keeps users informed about any natural disasters that may occur in their district. It can be easily downloaded from the Play Store on mobile devices.
