• Khudian & his J&K counterpart explore joint initiatives to deliver tangible benefits to farmers in both states

Punjab Desk: In a bid to boost dairy and livestock growth in the region, Punjab Agriculture & Farmers Welfare add Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development & Fisheries Minister S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian and Jammu & Kashmir Minister Sh. Satish Sharma on Thursday held detailed deliberations at Kisan Bhawan here to further strengthen inter-state cooperation in the dairy and livestock sectors for the benefit of farmers in both states.
- Gurmeet Singh Khudian warmly welcomed the J&K delegation led by Sh. Satish Sharma, who holds multiple portfolios including Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science & Technology, Information Technology, Youth Services & Sports. They explored avenues for cooperation that could boost the livestock economy of both Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir.
- Khudian reiterated Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government’s commitment to fostering cooperative federalism, emphasising that sharing best practices in agriculture and animal husbandry is vital for the nation’s growth. With Punjab ranking among the top milk producing states in the country, the discussion focused on enhancing milk output, upgrading breeds and strengthening veterinary infrastructure, he added.
J&K Minister Satish Sharma proposed to use of digital platforms to track livestock health and ensure timely delivery of subsidies and veterinary services to far-flung areas. Sh. Sharma also appreciated the insights shared by his Punjab counterpart and expressed optimism that a structured collaboration in the animal husbandry sector would yield tangible benefits for farmers of both states.
