Under this series, various competitions were organized for school students to create awareness about not burning stubble and proper management of stubble so that students can join this campaign and play an important role in the campaign to protect the environment from pollution .
Agriculture Officer Dr. Dharamvir Singh Kamboz said that burning of stubble has become a complex problem , while stubble can be managed in many ways , such as making bales of stubble with a baler/rake and removing it , using a super seeder to plow it in the field and directly sowing wheat to make fodder for animals , mulching of mushrooms and other crops can also be done , along with providing information to farmers in this regard, school students have also been made a part of this campaign so that students can inform their parents about the damage caused by burning stubble and proper management of stubble , for this, the Agriculture Department, Barnala, organized a speech competition, essay competition and painting competition at Government Senior Secondary School, Shahina , in which a play was also performed by the children on the damage caused by burning stubble.
Mrs. Sunita Sharma Nodal Officer (Parali) farmers informed the students about agricultural machinery and its use, conservation of the environment, water and land , environmental health , planting a tree in every household and moral values. Giving information , he said that the district administration Barnala has organized a lucky draw. (Stubble) has been launched , this is for the farmers of Barnala district who manage stubble without burning it , in this regard a link has been issued on QR code , by clicking on which the registration form will open and the form can be filled. Those students were appealed to inform their parents about this and get them to apply in the lucky draw.
Ramandeep Singh, Principal , Government Senior Secondary School, Tallewal, said that the students should be serious about the environment and think carefully so that they do not face bad consequences in the future. At this time, prizes were distributed to the winning students in various competitions and refreshments were also distributed to all the students.
