Punjab Desk: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan has extended his warmest greetings and best wishes to all the residents of Punjab on the auspicious occasion of Diwali and Bandi Chhor Diwas.
He said that this great festival of light is a symbol of the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. This festival gives us the message of walking on the path of truth, goodness and mutual brotherhood. S. Sandhwan said that we should celebrate this festival in an atmosphere of happiness, love, harmony and mutual unity.
Speaker Sandhwan appealed to the people to celebrate Diwali with simplicity and minimize the use of crackers, so as to avoid air pollution and noise pollution. He said that it is the responsibility of every citizen to protect nature and ensure a future with clean and healthy air for their children.
He said that Diwali is not just a festival of lighting lamps in homes, but a sacred occasion to spread the light of love and humanity in the hearts. He appealed to the people to spread true light by sharing happiness with poor and needy families this Diwali, and try to bring the glow of happiness in someone’s life.
Speaker Sandhwan said, “Let us all celebrate this Diwali together with the spirit of love, unity and service. Every good deed and shared happiness on our part is the light of the real Diwali.”
He said that Bandi Chhor Diwas is an important day in Sikh history, which is associated with the liberation of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji from imprisonment and the freedom of 52 other kings. This day teaches us that real happiness is only when we stand up for the freedom and welfare of others.
S. Sandhwan said that the land of Punjab has always been a symbol of love, brothers, sacrifice and solidarity. We should further strengthen the spirit of unity, solidarity, service and dedication in the society by following the teachings of our Guru Sahibans.
Finally, Speaker Sandhwan appealed to everyone to celebrate Diwali and Bandi Chhor Diwas peacefully and simply, to light the light of humanity in the hearts as well as in the homes, and to contribute in moving Punjab further on the path of progress.
