Punjab Desk: Every year, grand community feasts (Bhandaras) are organized in the village of Bhanupli located on the Nangal-Chandigarh road during the sacred Navratras of Sawan Ashtami. This year, the Sawan Ashtami fair will be held from July 25 to August 2, with the 15th annual Bhandara beginning on July 29. The event is being organized with the support of local shopkeepers, traders, and residents of the area.

The feast will commence in the morning of July 29 with the sacred Jyot (flame) being brought from the holy shrine of Mata Shri Naina Devi Ji. The Bhandara will continue till August 2, and on August 1, devotional hymns (bhajans) will be performed by Gurdyal Goldy in honor of the divine mother.

This information was shared by sevadaars Deepak Soni and Manu Puri, who highlighted that last year, the feast saw the presence of Punjab Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains, MLA from Shri Anandpur Sahib constituency. He had personally visited the Bhandara site and offered prayers. They mentioned that on July 31 at 6 PM, renowned spiritual leader Sant Baba Bal Ji will grace the gathering and bless devotees through his divine discourse.

They added that Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains has consistently supported this Bhandara over the years and has also been invited again this year to seek blessings from Mata Ji.

It is worth mentioning that Shri Anandpur Sahib constituency is home to several important religious sites, and during various religious events, this location is frequently used by religious organizations and community kitchens (langar committees). Every year, millions of devotees pass through Nangal and Shri Anandpur Sahib to visit North India’s famous Shakti Peeth, Mata Shri Naina Devi Ji in Himachal Pradesh, as well as other major spiritual gatherings.
