– Jalalabad MLA distributes loan waiver certificates to debtors of village Kathgarh under Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation

Punjab Desk: Under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is making tireless efforts for the welfare of every section of society. As part of this initiative, loans amounting to ₹67.84 crore taken by 4,727 borrowers belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and differently-abled individuals from the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation up to March 31, 2020, have been waived off.
This was stated by Jalalabad MLA Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy while distributing loan waiver certificates worth ₹43,39,361 to 24 borrowers from village Kathgarh in the constituency.
He further stated that under this scheme, loans worth ₹2.42 crore of 105 borrowers from the Jalalabad constituency have been waived. Similarly, in Fazilka district, a total of 266 borrowers have received loan waivers amounting to approximately ₹4.97 crore.
On this occasion, the MLA emphasized that the Punjab government is committed to protecting the interests of all sections of society. Therefore, all loans taken before the mentioned cut-off date from the SC Land Development and Finance Corporation have been written off.
Talwinder Singh, the District Manager of the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation, was also present on the occasion.
