Himachal Desk : Two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers of the 2024 batch and 19 probationary officers of the 2025 batch of the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service (HAS) called on Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhavan today. These probationers are currently undergoing professional training at the Dr. Manmohan Singh Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration.
The Governor congratulated the probationary officers on joining prestigious administrative services and encouraged them to serve the people with full dedication and integrity.
He emphasized that administrative officers should always prioritize public welfare over personal interests. He added that under no circumstances should the spirit of public service be compromised.
The Governor stressed that humility is essential for fulfilling social responsibilities with excellence. He reminded the officers that the public is paramount and they must always remember that their role is to serve, not to rule. Such clarity of purpose not only benefits the public but also provides personal satisfaction, which is vital for a fulfilling life.
On this occasion, the probationary officers introduced themselves and shared their experiences with the Governor. They also held in-depth discussions on various administrative and social issues.
The Governor urged the probationers to stay grounded and deeply understand the grassroots challenges, needs, and issues of the people and the region. He said that administrative officers should not only act as administrators but also build relationships with the public as guides, collaborators, and friends.
Earlier, the Institute’s Director, Ms. Rupali Thakur, briefed the Governor about the structure, objectives, and content of the training programs. She expressed gratitude to the Governor for encouraging and guiding the young officers.
The Institute’s Additional Director, Mr. Prashant Sarkek, and Course Director, Mr. Sandeep Sharma, were also present on the occasion.
