Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Naib Singh Saini today attended as the chief guest a programme organised in Bahadurgarh on the occasion of Savitribai Phule Jayanti. On this occasion, while paying homage to Savitribai Phule, he said that Savitribai Phule was not only the first woman teacher of India but also an independent personality and a proponent of women’s rights. Announcing during the function, the Chief Minister said that the birth anniversary of Mata Savitribai Phule would be celebrated at the government level. He said that in honour of Savitribai Phule, the Haryana Government has named Government Women’s College, Loharu , Bhiwani after Mata Savitribai Phule.
While giving a gift to the residents of Bahadurgarh constituency, Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the state government will work at a fast pace on the proposal to extend the metro from Bahadurgarh to Assoda. He said that Bahadurgarh Municipal Council will be made a Municipal Corporation after fulfilling the criteria.
He said that these projects will be taken forward after getting the feasibility check done for construction of underpass at Line Par gate , renovation of Bahadurgarh road , development of park on the vacant land adjacent to the old court and building gymnasium-yoga on the vacant land adjacent to the old bus stand. He said that the construction work of the incomplete northern bypass and the construction of new grain market will be expedited.
The Chief Minister said that unauthorized colonies have been regularized by the government and basic facilities are also being provided in them. If information about such unauthorized colonies is received, they will also be regularized by fulfilling the criteria. He said that Chhath Puja Ghats will be built in Wards 7 and 10. The Chief Minister announced a separate grant of Rs 5 crore for the development work of Bahadurgarh .
Savitribai Phule is not just a name but a story of women empowerment
In his address, Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that Savitribai Phule is not just a name but a complete story of women empowerment and education of daughters. He said that the state government is determined to educate and empower women and continuous and tireless efforts are being made to fulfill this resolution. He said that the pioneer of social revolution and the loud voice of women empowerment, Smt. Savitribai Phule was not only the first female teacher of India but also an independent personality and a pioneer of women’s rights.
Following the resolution of Savitribai Phule, Haryana government promoted women empowerment
The Chief Minister said that Savitribai dedicated her life to women’s education and empowerment. She had made it the aim of her life to get widows married, eradicate untouchability , liberate women and educate women. Savitribai Phule is our source of inspiration in women’s upliftment. She worked hard for women’s education and their upliftment despite many oppositions. She opened the first girls’ school in Pune, Maharashtra in 1848. Following Savitribai Phule’s resolve for women’s education, the Haryana government has opened colleges within every 20 km radius to provide higher education in the last 10 years . During this period, 79 government colleges have been opened , out of which 30 colleges are for girls only.
He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had started the nationwide Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign from Panipat in February 2015. The Haryana government worked to save daughters under this campaign through various NGOs. While the sex ratio in Haryana was 871 earlier, today it has increased to 916. Today Haryana is not counted among the states that kill daughters but is counted as a state that promotes daughters. This is our true tribute to Mata Savitri Bai Phule.
The Chief Minister said that the Haryana Government has given 50 percent representation to women in Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies. He thanked the Prime Minister for giving 33 percent reservation to women in the legislature. Keeping women safety in mind, 33 women police stations have been opened in the state so far. He said that the state government has set a target of making 5 lakh Lakhpati Didis in the state. So far 1 lakh 46 thousand women have been made Lakhpati Didis. Under the Drone Didi Yojana in the state, a target has been set to provide free training of drone pilot to 5 thousand women. Under this, the state government will provide drones worth up to Rs 8 lakh for free. So far 100 women have been given free drones by training them to fly drones.
Haryana is progressing in every field under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini – Dr. Arvind Sharma
On this occasion, Cooperation Minister Dr Arvind Sharma said that the public knows everything about the conditions before 2014, but today Haryana is progressing in every field under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr Naib Singh Saini. He said that Mata Savitribai Phule had started a campaign for women’s education. He said that women are being empowered today under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi , its foundation was laid by Mata Savitribai Phule. Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule have a special contribution behind the right to advancement and equality that women are getting today . He said that the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister think that the more empowered the women are , the stronger the country and Haryana will be.
Haryana government is doing public service work by following the ideals of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule- Ramchandra Jangra
Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Shri Ramchandra Jangra said that today the Chief Minister of Haryana is such a person who understands the problems of every section including the poor , labourers , farmers , small shopkeepers and ensures their prompt resolution. He said that Mata Savitribai Phule was born in a poor family in a small village of Maharashtra. She was married to Jyotiba Phule at a very young age. Jyotiba Phule opened the doors for women’s education by making his wife the first woman teacher. Following the ideals of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule, the Haryana Government is working to serve the people.
MLA Shri Rajesh June while welcoming Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that the Chief Minister belongs to 36 communities and he is taking the whole of Haryana forward on the path of development by following the motto of Sabka Saath- Sabka Vikas. During this, the MLA also presented a demand letter for development works related to the assembly constituency before the Chief Minister.
