Rs 9 Crore Sanctioned for Sports Grounds in 26 Villages of Fazilka, Youth to Be Seen on the Fields Soon

Punjab Desk: In a major step to keep the youth of Punjab away from drugs, the state government has sanctioned ₹9 crore for the development of sports grounds in 26 villages of the Fazilka constituency. This initiative is part of the Mann Government’s ongoing anti-drug campaign, which is receiving strong support from the public and helping steer the younger generation away from substance abuse.

Fazilka MLA Narinderpal Singh Sawna announced the allocation, stating that model sports grounds will be developed in every village of the constituency to encourage youth participation in sports and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Sawna emphasized that the youth are the future of Punjab, and the government is committed to ensuring that this future is bright, active, and drug-free. He added that the creation of sports facilities will not only keep youngsters away from bad company but also improve their physical and mental well-being.

He also noted that having sports infrastructure in villages will allow aspiring athletes to train in their hometowns without the need to travel elsewhere, saving time and effort. This move is expected to enhance local talent and give youth the opportunity to represent the state at higher levels.

The 26 villages where the sports grounds will be constructed include: Shah Uthar, Miani Basti, Abhun, Chawarian Wali, Chuhri Wala Chishti, Heera Wali, Jand Wala Kharta, Jhok Depot Lana, Karni Khera, Korianwali, Maujam, Pakka Chishti, Ladhuka, Fatehgarh, Lakhe Ke Uthar, Tarobari, Baken Wala, Khooi Khera, Sabuana, Bodi Wala Pitha, Jand Wala Meera Sagalon, Kabul Shah Khooban, Khiu Wali Dhab, Lakhe Wali Dhab, Roopnagar, and Shatir Wala.

Urging the youth of these villages to prepare themselves to utilize their energy on the playing fields, the MLA said the sports grounds would be completed soon and handed over to the communities. This initiative aims to connect the youth with sports and steer them away from harmful influences like drugs.
