– Loan waiver certificates distributed to 33 beneficiaries of Fazilka constituency

Punjab Desk: Under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government has waived loans worth ₹67.84 crore taken by 4,727 beneficiaries from the Scheduled Castes community through the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation. This announcement was made by Fazilka MLA Narinder Pal Singh Sawna during a program held at the Market Committee office, where loan waiver certificates were distributed to eligible beneficiaries from the Fazilka assembly constituency.
The MLA stated that all loans taken from the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation before 31 March 2020 have been completely waived. In the Fazilka assembly constituency, 33 individuals have benefited from this scheme, with a total loan waiver amounting to ₹72,13,919. Across the entire Fazilka district, 266 people have benefited, and loans worth ₹4.97 crore have been waived.
MLA Sawna emphasized that the Punjab Government is a people-centric government that prioritizes public welfare. He said that due to challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and other hardships, members of the SC community were struggling to repay their outstanding loans. Understanding their difficulties, the government took this step to waive off their debts.
He further added that the state government, under CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to safeguarding public interests and is working for the welfare of every section of society.
On this occasion, Fazilka SDM Veer Pal Kaur, PCS, and Talwinder Singh, General Manager of the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation, were also present.
