Punjab Desk: The Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, a nationwide initiative aimed at transforming Indian agriculture, reached in the 8th day today in Ferozepur district of Punjab. Over the past week, from May 29 to June 5, numerous farmers across more than 50 villages benefited from this comprehensive awareness and outreach program. Organized by the PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Ferozepur in collaboration with the agriculture and allied departments, NGOs and IFFCO, the campaign dated 6.6.2025, focused on modernizing agriculture through scientific outreach, promoting sustainable practices, natural farming, and the role of Agri-drones in the villages namely Khosa Dal Singh, Talwandi Nepala, Padhri, Nizamdin wala and others. The event was led by Dr Gurmail Singh, Deputy Director (Trg), KVK Ferozepur and lead teams consists of KVK scientists Dr. Bhallan Singh Sekhon, Dr. Simranjit Kaur and Dr Harpreet Kaur along with technical staff Sh Jasbir Singh and Sh Deepak Kumar under the aegis of the Directorate of Extension Education, PAU, Ludhiana and in accordance with the guidelines of Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Govt of India and Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi. During the campaign, farmers were educated about the measures to be adopted during pre-kharif and kharif season cereals and fruit and vegetable crops for maximum productivity. Farmers were also made aware about the benefits and implementation processes of various government schemes designed to enhance productivity, ensure income security and encourage modern agricultural practices. The initiative provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and aimed to strengthen the connection between scientific institutions and farmers at grassroots level.
