Jatimajra Shines with Modern

Punjab Desk:  Village Jatimajra in Dhuri subdivision of Sangrur district has emerged as a model of rural transformation with modern infrastructure, advanced technology, and improved civic amenities. The installation of 23 CCTV cameras has strengthened village security, while 135 LED and 30 solar lights have made the entire area bright and safe during nighttime.
Sarpanch Amandeep Singh said that under the visionary leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government has been consistently releasing funds to upgrade rural infrastructure and improve the quality of life in villages like Jatimajra.
He informed that the 23 CCTV cameras, installed at a cost of ₹5 lakh, cover key areas of the village and have enhanced security and monitoring. Similarly, 135 LED lights and 30 solar-powered streetlights, installed with an investment of ₹10 lakh, have illuminated every street, promoting safety and energy efficiency.
Highlighting the progress in basic amenities, the Sarpanch said that every household in the village now receives clean water supply from government sources. He further stated that three village ponds have been rejuvenated and interconnected through pipelines at a cost of ₹46 lakh. The treated water from these ponds is now being used for irrigation purposes, ensuring both environmental sustainability and agricultural benefit. A treatment plant has also been set up on one of the ponds.
Amandeep Singh mentioned that the Village Fehajgarh–Jatimajra–Hathan road has been widened from 10 feet to 18 feet, easing transportation and benefiting a large number of residents. The village government primary school has also been upgraded with new classrooms and washrooms.
In addition, a memorial gate has been built in honour of 1962 war martyr Mukand Singh at a cost of ₹10 lakh, and the approach road to Shaheed Baba Gurmukh Singh Ji’s memorial has been concretized. Streets have been paved, and a boundary wall has been constructed around the village graveyard to enhance sanitation and aesthetics.
Reaffirming his commitment to further development, Sarpanch Amandeep Singh said that new projects are being planned, including the construction of a shed at the Ravidas Dharamshala, a gym, an RO water plant, village-wide Wi-Fi connectivity, and the installation of three new transformers to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
He added that with continued support from the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Jatimajra is steadily becoming a model village with urban-level amenities and modern facilities.
