Punjab Desk: As per the directions of the Director, Youth Services Department Punjab, and with the support of Punjab State AIDS Control Society, Chandigarh, a district-level advocacy meeting of Red Ribbon Clubs’ nodal officers working in the district was organized under the leadership of Mr. Jaspal Singh, Assistant Director, Youth Services Department, Ferozepur, at SBS University, Ferozepur.
During this meeting, the annual grant for the year 2025–26 was released to various Red Ribbon Clubs in the district. On this occasion, Jaspal Singh, Assistant Director, Youth Services, Ferozepur, welcomed the nodal officers of all colleges and explained in detail to the peer educators about the inception of the Red Ribbon Clubs and the objectives behind setting them up. He also conducted an interactive session with them. He motivated the youth to spread awareness among the general public under the Red Ribbon Clubs on issues such as prevention of drug abuse, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and blood donation. A review of the activities to be undertaken by the Red Ribbon Clubs during the year 2025–26 was also carried out.
Counsellors Ramanpreet Kaur, Monica Bedi (ICTC Counsellor), and Parveen Kumari from the Health Department, Ferozepur, provided detailed information to the youth regarding the rise of HIV/AIDS due to drug abuse and held serious discussions with them on these topics.
In the concluding session, the nodal officer of the University Red Ribbon Club, Mr. Gurpreet Singh, thanked all the nodal officers and peer educators for their participation. The chief guests were honored with mementos, and five best-performing Red Ribbon Clubs were felicitated.
