Final Rehearsal for Independence Day Celebrations Held

Punjab Desk: The full-dress rehearsal for the district-level Independence Day celebrations in Fazilka was held today at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Multi-Purpose Stadium. Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu (IAS) inaugurated the event by hoisting the national flag. She inspected the parade contingents and witnessed various cultural performances. SSP Gurmeet Singh was also present on the occasion, along with DSP Sukhwinder Singh, under whose leadership the parade contingents participated.
Students from J.A.V. Jain School, Atam Vallabh Public School, Holy Heart School, Government Primary School Chanan Wala, Heritage School, and Government Girls School presented a variety of cultural performances. Bhangra teams from different schools showcased themes of patriotism, Punjab’s heritage, and cultural vibrancy through their presentations.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr. Mandeep Kaur, SP Mukhtiar Rai, SDMs Virpal Kaur and Kanwarjit Singh Mann, DSP Abhinash Chander, DDPO Neeru Garg, District Education Officer Ajay Sharma, and officers from various departments were also present. The Deputy Commissioner held a meeting with officials from different departments and gave directions to ensure that the event is celebrated in a grand manner.

Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker to Hoist the National Flag at Fazilka
This year, the district-level celebrations in Fazilka will be graced by Punjab Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Rouri as the chief guest. He will hoist the tricolour at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Multi-Purpose Stadium.
