Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh reviewed the cards being prepared under the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme

Instructed the officials of the District Administration and Health Department to further expedite the work of preparing the cards

Punjab Desk:  Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh held a meeting with the officials of the District Administration and Health Department at the District Administrative Complex Amritsar to review the cards being prepared under the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme in the district. On this occasion, He was accompanied by Public Works Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO, MLA Ajnala S. Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, MLA Amritsar Central Dr. Ajay Gupta, MLA Amritsar East Mrs. Jeevanjot Kaur, MLA Amritsar West Dr. Jarbir Singh Sandhu, MLA Attari S. Jaswinder Singh Ramdas, Chairman Punjab Health Systems Corporation S. Gursharan Singh Chhina, District President Aam Aadmi Party Prabhbir Singh Brar, President Gurpartap Singh Sandhu, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Dalwinderjit Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Mr. Rohit Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Mrs. Amandeep Kaur, SDM Baba Bakala Mr. Amandeep Singh, SDM Ajnala Mr. Ravinder Singh Arora, Civil Surgeon Dr. Satinder Singh Bajaj and other officials were also present.

While reviewing the cards being made in the district under the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh instructed the officials to make maximum cards to provide the benefit of this scheme to all the people and to increase the number of camps for this work. He asked the elected representatives of the people along with the officials to visit these camps and keep reviewing the progress of card making.

After this, while talking to the media, Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said that the residents of the state are very happy with the Chief Minister Health Scheme and a large number of people are making cards of the Chief Minister Health Scheme. He said that a Chief Minister Health Scheme card will be made and given to every family in the state. He said that so far 9 lakh cards have been made in the state and by Monday this number will cross 10 lakh.

Dr. Balbir Singh said that under the Chief Minister Health Scheme, cashless health insurance of up to Rs. 10 lakh per family is being provided annually. He said that the aim of this scheme is to completely reduce the financial burden of families during medical emergencies. He said that the Civil Surgeons have been instructed to ensure smooth registration and provision of services in the listed hospitals so that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of treatment. He also asked to establish close coordination with CSC, ASHA and PRI representatives to ensure maximum access and reduce the financial burden. He said that under this scheme, where free treatment will be provided in all government hospitals, 600 private hospitals have also been empanelled.Warning the people of the state against the rumours being spread by the opposition parties, Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said that the opposition is deliberately creating confusion. He said that it is the guarantee of the Mann government that every family will get a medical cover of Rs 10 lakh annually under the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme. He said that the opposition has no other issue now, that is why they are misleading the people. He said that people should not fall for their rumours at all.During the press conference, Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said that recently the Amritsar Police has taken a fake health minister into custody. He said that this fake health minister was making a fake call to a doctor, on whom the Amritsar Police took action, arrested him and sent him to jail. He warned such fake and fraudulent scammers to desist from such activities, otherwise strict legal action will be taken against them.
