Cabinet Minister Inaugurates Road Development Projects Worth ₹10.36 Crore
Residents of the Constituency to Get a Superior Road Network

Punjab Desk: Under the ongoing campaign launched by the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, to ensure rural development and improve transportation facilities, Cabinet Minister, Barinder Kumar Goyal today inaugurated road upgradation and renovation works worth over ₹10.36 crore in various villages of Lehragaga constituency.
On this occasion, the Cabinet Minister stated that not a single road in Lehra constituency will be left without transformation. He said that for the past several days, he has been continuously laying foundation stones and initiating the construction of roads. Around 60 road development projects have been approved for the constituency.
During the ceremony, Mr. Goyal laid the foundation stones for several important road projects aimed at improving connectivity across the region. These included the Rajalheri to Moonak-Patran Road, to be constructed at a cost of ₹43 lakh; the Salemgarh to Dehlan-Bhathuan Road, costing ₹56.13 lakh; and the Mandvi to Makraur Sahib via Salemgarh and Kartarpur Basti Road, to be upgraded at a cost of ₹1.48 crore. In addition, work has commenced on the Rampur Gujran to Haryana Border via Bazigar Basti to Simbal Road at a cost of ₹45.04 lakh and on the Moonak-Tohana Road to Gurdwara Sahib Mandvi Grid Road, with an estimated expenditure of ₹4.37 crore. Other projects include the Kudni to Rampura via Kabirpura Road costing ₹62.28 lakh, the Kalian to Sadhani District Border Road at ₹52 lakh, and the Kalian to Kahngarh Road at ₹21 lakh. Furthermore, the Adakwas to Changaliwala Road will be built at a cost of ₹58.44 lakh, the Village Khai to Adakwas Road at ₹60 lakh, and the Village Adakwas to Ramgarh Sandhuan Road at a cost of ₹53 lakh.
The total cost of these road projects amounts to approximately ₹10.36 crore. Mr. Goyal said that these roads, once completed, will significantly improve the transportation network in the area, reducing travel time and facilitating easier movement of goods and services.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister emphasized that the primary goal of the Punjab Government is to ensure sustainable infrastructural development, enabling citizens to enjoy smooth transportation facilities while ensuring that farmers can easily transport their produce to markets without any hindrance. He added that these development works being initiated in different villages will prove to be milestones in the economic and social progress of the region.
The Cabinet Minister reiterated that no compromise will be made on the quality of construction, and all works will be completed within the stipulated timeframe. He further added that the construction and renovation of these roads will not only enhance connectivity but will also boost trade and economic activities among the villages.
Highlighting the government’s balanced approach, Mr. Goyal stated that the Punjab Government is giving equal priority to the development of both rural and urban areas, with a strong focus on roads, water supply, healthcare, and education projects in every constituency.
He expressed gratitude to the local residents whose cooperation has helped accelerate the pace of development works and appealed to them to take collective responsibility for maintaining public infrastructure and to actively participate in the state’s development initiatives.
On this occasion, Khanauri Market Committee Chairman Jogi Ram Bhullan, Lehra Market Committee Chairman Dr. Shishpal Anand, Block President Karamjit Singh, Mani Singh, Lakhvir Singh, Bhagwant Singh Mandvi, Hardeep Singh, Gulzari, Shamsher Singh, Makhan Singh, Bhagat Singh, Mangat Ram, Sukhhi (Sarpanch), Mona (Sarpanch), Amrik Singh, Mandi Board Executive Engineer (XEN) Puneet Kumar, Mandi Board S.D.O. Lalit Bajaj, PWD S.D.O. Sukhveer Singh, P.A. to the Cabinet Minister Rakesh Kumar Gupta, along with a large number of volunteers and local residents, were present.
