District Public Relations Office, Gurdaspur Chairman Bharat Bhushan Sharma Urges Local Residents to Join the Fight Against Drugs

Punjab Desk: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government’s renewed “War Against Drugs” campaign, the Drug-Free Yatra, is receiving a strong response in the villages of the Gurdaspur Assembly constituency. Yesterday evening, special awareness meetings were held in the villages Mukandpur, Hardaan, and Lole Nangal as part of the Drug-Free Yatra. These were led by Chairman of Gurdaspur Market Committee Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Yatra Coordinator Neeraj Salhotra, Hani Bahil, and Sucha Singh Multani.
During the awareness meetings in Mukandpur, Hardaan, and Lole Nangal, Chairman Bharat Bhushan Sharma addressed representatives of the Village Defense Committees and local residents. He said the aim of the Drug-Free Yatra is to rescue the youth of the state from the clutches of drugs and lead them towards a bright future. He added that the Punjab Government is fighting the war against drugs with full seriousness and spreading awareness at the grassroots level is crucial.
On this occasion, he appealed to the villagers, especially the youth, to stay away from drugs and actively participate in freeing society from this evil. People were made aware of the harmful effects of drugs during the event. The local residents collectively pledged to keep their villages drug-free. They also declared that they will not give bail to any drug traffickers and will completely boycott such elements.
