Welfare Fair in Batala: Beneficiaries Assisted Under Various Schemes

Punjab Desk:  A “Lok Kalyan Mela” (Public Welfare Fair) was organized at the Municipal Corporation, Batala, under the guidance of Vikramjit Singh Panthe, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation and SDM Batala, following the directives of local government departments, with a focus on the PM Svanidhi Scheme.

Providing details, Rajinder Sharma, Assistant Commissioner, Corporation, said that bank in-charges, lead district managers, superintendents of Municipal Corporation Batala, and officers from other departments were present at the fair. They addressed and processed applications of beneficiaries under various government schemes.

He further informed that street vendors received information regarding loans under the PM Svanidhi Scheme, including the first loan of ₹15,000, the second loan of ₹25,000, and the third loan of ₹50,000 with subsidy. New loans were also applied for during the fair. The Lok Kalyan Mela will continue at the Corporation Office, Batala, until 2 October 2025.

In addition, the families of street vendors were provided information about the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, insurance schemes, Suraksha Bima Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, Janani Suraksha Yojana, pensions, and various digital services.

Officials present at the camp included Lead District Manager Rajan Malhotra, Superintendent Palvinder Singh, Superintendent Jyoti Saini, Manager Gurpreet Singh, Rajbir Dogra, and Rajbir Kaur.
