Weapon License Holders with More Than Two Arms Must Get Them Deleted – District Magistrate

Punjab Desk:  District Magistrate Faridkot, Madam Poonamdeep Kaur, informed that as per the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, amendments have been made to the Arms Act 1959, and the revised rules are now in effect. Therefore, any arms license holder having more than two weapons registered on their license must get the additional weapons deleted from their license within one month.

She further stated that in Faridkot district, no arms license holder can now keep more than two weapons on a single license. Hence, all license holders with more than two registered weapons must immediately approach the Arms License Branch, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Faridkot, for deletion of extra weapons and to obtain disposal/sale permission.

The District Magistrate warned that if the license holders fail to get the extra weapons deleted within the stipulated time, they themselves will be held responsible. In such cases, their additional weapons will be declared illegal, and further action will be initiated as per rules, including cancellation of the arms license.
