Vote can be cast through 12 other

Punjab Desk:  During the bye-election of Assembly constituency 021-Tarn Taran to be held on 11 November, voters will be able to cast their vote by showing 12 other official documents besides voter identity card as proof of identity.

Giving information about the instructions of the Election Commission of India, Returning Officer-cum-SDM of Tarn Taran Mr. Gurmeet Singh, PCS. said that voters who do not have election photo identity cards can cast their vote by showing Aadhaar card, MNREGA job card, passbook with photo issued by banks/post offices, health smart card issued under the scheme of the Ministry of Labour, driving license, PAN card, RGI under NPR. Smart card issued by, Indian passport, pension document with photo, service identity card issued by Central/State Governments/Public Sector Undertakings or Public Limited Companies to their employees, identity card issued to MP. MLA and Unique Disability Identity Card issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Government of India can also be used to vote.

Returning Officer Mr. Gurmeet Singh has appealed to all the voters of the Vidhan Sabha constituency of 021-Tarn Taran to participate in the bye-election with full enthusiasm and exercise their right to vote.
