Punjab Desk: Rakesh Kumar Saxena Scientist, Observer of Commission for Air Quality Management Government of India, along with Block Agriculture Officer Patti Dr. Bhupinder Singh, visited the hot spot villages of Agriculture Block Patti like Ghariala, Kairon, Paragpura, Manakpura, Shaheed etc. and inspected the paddy stubble management machinery. During this, discussions were held with the farmers about implementing better stubble management process and they were also informed about the problems being faced by them at the farm level.
Dr. Bhupinder Singh, Block Agriculture Officer, Patti and Circle Incharge Rajinder Kumar, Agriculture Extension Officer, Ghariala, Manmohan Singh, Agriculture Extension Officer, Kachha Pakka, BTM Gurpreet Singh apprised the district administration and the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department about the various activities and initiatives being taken to make farmers aware of not burning paddy stubble. On this occasion, the team was also shown the opportunity of stubble management being done in the fields with balers and in situ machines.
On this occasion, knowledgeable farmers Lakhvir Singh, Darbara Singh Manakpura, Navdeep Singh, Gurbhej Singh and farmers from different villages informed about the benefits and difficulties of stubble management and said that with proper management of stubble, the fertility of the land increases and the environment also remains good. During this, field workers Dilbagh Singh, Pappu Singh and farmers of the area provided information and cooperation.
