To promote the profession of animal husbandry, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Sri Muktsar Sahib organized a training course on animal husbandry from May 16 to May 26, 2025. A total of 25 trainees from across the district participated in the course.
During the training, Dr. Vivek Sharma, Assistant Professor of Animal Science, provided detailed insights on livestock breeds, breed improvement, preparation of animal feed, dairy shed management, and animal health enhancement.
Dr. Muskan, Veterinary Officer from Ballamgarh, shared information with the trainees about reproductive issues in animals and common digestive disorders.
In addition, Dr. Gopika, Professor at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, delivered an in-depth session on milk processing and the preparation of various dairy products.
Throughout the training, Dr. Karamjeet Sharma, Associate Director of KVK, explained the economics of dairy farming and effective milk marketing strategies. He also motivated the trainees to implement the practical suggestions shared by various scientists during the course.
