Students Informed About Police Work and Services at Police Station and Sanjh Kendra

Punjab Desk: Under the directions of Mr. Suhail Qasim Mir, SSP Batala, students of Government Senior Secondary School, Dera Baba Nanak, were invited to the Sub-Division Office, Sanjh Kendra, and Police Station, Dera Baba Nanak. They were educated about the daily functioning of the police station and the various services provided at the Sanjh Kendra.

Students were also made aware of important helpline numbers such as 112, 181, 97791-00200, and 1930, which are useful in cases of online fraud and emergency assistance.

On this occasion, SP (H), Batala, Mrs. Jaswant Kaur informed the students about the harmful effects of drug abuse. She said that the police department is conducting awareness camps to educate people about the dangers of drugs and is actively working to combat drug abuse. She mentioned that the Punjab Government has launched a WhatsApp number – 97791-00200 – through which citizens can report information about drug-related activities. The identity of the informant is kept confidential.

Students were also informed about the National Emergency Helpline number 112, which can be used to call the police, fire brigade, or ambulance. They were told that the National Women Helpline number 181 can be used to report issues related to women, children, or domestic violence. Additionally, for any kind of cybercrime or online fraud, help can be sought by calling the Cyber Crime Helpline number 1930.

Furthermore, the students were given insights into the day-to-day operations carried out at the police station.
