Punjab Desk: CEO office Punjab informed that, the schedule for Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral roll in Punjab is not announced by Election Commission of India(ECI) and the news item in some section of media is merely speculative in nature and to be ignored.
A spokesperson informed that however as per the direction of ECI, the preparatory activities are going on at all India level in all States and is also being done in Punjab, which includes the comparison of Electoral rolls of last SIR and the current voters in latest Electoral Roll.
He further said that ECI will take into consider all factors before announcement of the actual Schedule in States. Therefore, Media friends are requested to refrain from giving any such speculative news.
