Punjab Desk:  Shri Jitin Prasada, Hon’ble Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, visited Sector Headquarters, Gurdaspur today.

During the visit, the Hon’ble Minister was briefed by Shri Jaswinder Kumar Birdi, DIG, SHQ Gurdaspur, on Operation Sindoor—a glorious chapter showcasing the courage, valour, and supreme dedication of the Border Security Force.

DIG Birdi also apprised the Hon’ble Minister about the recent flood situation in the border belt, the challenges faced by BSF troops manning the Border Outposts during incessant rains, and the steadfastness with which the Force continued its primary duty of safeguarding the nation’s frontiers.

The Hon’ble Minister was further informed about the humanitarian initiatives undertaken by BSF, including timely rescue and relief measures extended to the border residents severely affected by the floods.

Thereafter, the Hon’ble Minister and DIG SHQ Gurdaspur shared breakfast at the Jawan Mess with the jawans, interacting with them and appreciating their dedication, morale, and commitment to duty.

This gesture deeply motivated the troops and reflected the Government’s respect and concern for the welfare of the force personnel.

The Hon’ble Minister lauded the professionalism, resilience, and unwavering commitment of BSF troops, both in ensuring national security and in standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the border population during testing times.

He expressed his appreciation for the exemplary dedication displayed by the “Sentinels of the Borders.”
