Amargarh/Malerkotla, May 27,2025 FACT RECORDER

Under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Viraj S. Tidke, the District Task Team conducted inspections of various school buses in Amargarh as part of the Safe School Vehicle Policy. District Child Protection Officer Harpreet Kaur informed that the team checked aspects such as the buses’ fitness, fire extinguishers, number plates, and other safety-related factors.

Keeping children’s safety in mind, around 45 school buses were inspected, out of which two were fined for not meeting the required safety standards.

She told all school principals that while a child in a van may be just one student to them, for their parents, that child is their entire world, whom they trustfully send to school in that van. Therefore, it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure the complete safety of those children.

She emphasized that if any bus has shortcomings under the Safe School Vehicle Policy, they must be rectified during the summer holidays in June. Strict action will be taken against any school violating this policy. She reiterated that children’s safety is the top priority of the government and any negligence in this matter will not be tolerated.

Present during the inspection were ATO Shehnaz Parveen, Legal Officer Babita Kumari, Social Worker Gurjant Singh, Traffic In-charge Balbir Singh, along with staff from other departments.
