Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who suffered multiple injuries after being attacked with a knife at his residence in Bandra (West), is recovering well and is set to be discharged in two or three days, doctors at Lilavati Hospital said Saturday. Saif underwent emergency surgeries and was later shifted out of the ICU.
What is the latest update in the case?
The suspect continues to be on the run, with the Mumbai Police forming as many as 20 teams to crack the case. Friday saw a massive manhunt to trace the suspect, with at least two dozen teams from the local police, Crime Branch and crime intelligence unit working to make headway. In the morning, a “suspect” was brought in for questioning, only to be let go about five hours later.
Who is the attacker?
According to Mumbai police, the attacker is related to one of his staffers, who allowed him entry into the house. A glimpse of the attacker was caught on the CCTV cameras inside the building. The accused was locked in one of the rooms but managed to escape.
