Ban on Songs Promoting Drugs and Obscene Posters

Punjab Desk: District Magistrate Madam Poonamdeep Kaur IAS, exercising powers under Section 163 of the Indian Citizenship Protection Act 2023, has issued restriction orders within the jurisdiction of Faridkot district. These orders will remain in effect until 16th August 2025.
According to the orders issued by the District Magistrate, no songs encouraging alcohol, drugs, or inciting violence will be allowed to be performed during any live shows in Faridkot district. Children under the age of 12 will not be permitted to enter cinema halls or multiplexes screening movies with a “U/A” certification. Obscene posters, semi-nude posters, and nude posters will not be allowed to be displayed or installed near educational institutions in Faridkot. Additionally, the use of loudspeakers is completely banned 15 days before and during annual examinations.
