Punjab Desk: Training on routine vaccination was conducted at Civil Hospital Rupnagar today under the chairmanship of Civil Surgeon Dr. Sukhwinderjit Singh.
District Vaccination Officer Dr. Navroop Kaur said that in this one-day training conducted for Medical Officers, BEE, LHV and ANM under the leadership of Civil Surgeon Dr. Sukhwinderjit Singh, special information about the vaccination process, vaccine schedule, use of U-Win portal, online records and testing was given by the World Health Organization representative SMO Dr. Vikram.
He said that it is very important to get all the vaccines given to every child on time after birth through the regular vaccination program so that children can be protected from dangerous diseases like TB, mumps, tetanus, pneumonia, whooping cough, measles, polio etc. This program is run by the Health Department every Wednesday and Saturday in district hospitals and on Wednesdays at all health centers, sub-centers and Anganwadi centers.
Dr. Navroop Kaur said that the aim of this training is to update the health staff with new techniques and procedures so that the vaccination progress of children up to 5 years can be ensured and the maternal and child mortality rate can be brought to zero.
