Punjab Desk: The monsoon has officially entered Punjab, arriving a week ahead of its expected schedule through the Pathankot region. The early onset has brought relief from the intense summer heat, but it also comes with a caution: the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall in various districts.

This early monsoon is expected to bring a significant dip in temperatures and provide much-needed moisture for the ongoing Kharif crop sowing season, especially for paddy farmers. However, excessive rainfall could also lead to flooding concerns, prompting local administrations to remain on high alert.
