Grant of Rs 30 lakh released for villages of Khera and Sirhind blocks
The state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to the all-round development of villages and cities and there will be no shortage of funds for development works. These views were expressed by the Chairman of the District Planning Committee S. Ajay Singh Libra on the occasion of handing over a cheque of Rs 30 lakhs by the District Planning Committee for various development works of blocks Khera and Sirhind at the District Administrative Complex.
He said that this grant has been released for the ongoing works of SC Dharamshalas, Anganwadi centers, playgrounds and water tanks in the villages of these blocks so that the development works can be completed on time.
- Libra said that development works are being carried out on a war footing to make Fatehgarh Sahib, the land of martyrs, a leading district in terms of development. He said that to connect the younger generation with sports, the government has successfully organized three seasons of Sports Watan Punjab . It has been organized and players who win medals at the national and international levels are being given high positions and large prize money.
Chairman Ajay Libra said that the government is taking strict decisions for the complete eradication of drugs from the state and now drug traffickers will not be spared under any circumstances. He appealed to the people of the district to extend full cooperation in the campaign launched by the government against drug peddlers so that the young generation can be saved from the scourge of drugs. Officers of various departments were present on the occasion.
