Today, MLA S. Gurdit Singh Sekho presented cheques worth ₹5 lakh each to the Panchayats unanimously elected in the Faridkot constituency. He said that seven villages in the constituency—Golewala, Jharhiwala, Ghoniwala, Pakhi Khurd, Ghagiana, Chakk Sahu, and Araiyan Wala—had unanimously elected their Panchayats.

MLA S. Gurdit Singh Sekho stated that Panchayats are the fundamental units of our democracy, and strengthening them strengthens democracy itself. At the grassroots level, it involves common people and their representatives in developmental activities. He congratulated the unanimously elected Panchayats and the entire communities of these villages for strengthening social harmony and reaching consensus.

MLA Sekho further assured that the Punjab government would ensure there is no shortage of development work or funds for villages and towns in the state.

Chairman of the Market Committee, S. Amandeep Singh Baba, thanked Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, saying that he has fulfilled his promises in a very short time. He added that the funds provided can be used wherever necessary in the villages.

Chairman of the Market Committee, S. Ramandeep Singh Mumara, also thanked the Punjab government and said that this initiative to hold unanimous Panchayat elections is commendable for maintaining harmony among people. He expressed hope that the elected Panchayats would work efficiently for the next five years, just as they showed unity during the elections.

At the event, Sarpanchs Hardeep Singh Maluka Patti Golewala, Gurvinder Singh Jharhiwala, Ravdeep Singh Ghoniwala, Baljeet Kaur Araiyan Wala Khurd, and Gurpreet Singh Ghugiana expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and MLA S. Gurdit Singh Sekho for this initiative.
