Punjab Desk: Due to heavy rainfall in recent days, several villages of the Faridkot constituency were waterlogged. Continuous efforts are being made for drainage, and today, constituency MLA S. Gurdit Singh Sekhon personally ensured the removal of stagnant water in Machaki Kalan, Machaki Khurd, Basti Himmatpura, and Arayawala Kalan villages.

MLA Sekhon said that under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner of Faridkot, the entire administration is working day and night in every village to provide relief to the people. He added that special attention is being given to villages prone to flooding so that residents do not face hardships. Wherever water has accumulated, it is being drained out through canals. He assured that with the weather improving, conditions will return to normal in the coming days.

Sekhon further stated that due to natural calamities, large parts of Punjab are flood-affected, and both the Punjab Government and Punjabi community are actively providing relief. Recently, the people of Faridkot contributed generously with fodder, langar, ration, medicines, etc., which he personally distributed among flood-hit families in Ferozepur. He appealed to everyone to come forward and extend maximum support to the flood victims.

On this occasion, SHO Shri Rajesh Kumar, S. Ramandeep Singh Mumara (Chairman, Market Committee), S. Baljeet Singh (Sarpanch, Machaki Kalan), S. Rajdeep (Sarpanch, Mahimuana), Amarjeet Singh Parmar, Manjinder Singh, Manpreet Singh, Naib Singh, and Gora Singh Dhaliwal were also present.
