Punjab Desk: Mr. Gurpreet Singh Ittanwali, Member of the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission, Chandigarh, met Punjab Chief Secretary Mr. K.A.P. Sinha. During the meeting, he discussed in detail the various problems being faced by people belonging to the Scheduled Castes in Punjab.
On this occasion, Mr. Gurpreet Singh Ittanwali brought to the Chief Secretary’s notice that there is a need to create more awareness among Scheduled Caste communities about the facilities and schemes being provided by the government, so that they can fully avail themselves of the benefits.
He also pointed out that special attention is required at the government level to resolve the various issues being faced by several Scheduled Caste families. The Chief Secretary assured him that the problems of Scheduled Caste people will be addressed with due seriousness, and that the benefits of government schemes will be delivered effectively at the grassroots level.
