Important decisions taken for the welfare of children

Punjab Desk:  A meeting of District Child Welfare Council (DCWC), Gurdaspur was held under the chairmanship of S. Gursimran Singh Dhillon, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Gurdaspur. Government officers and members of the Advisory Committee of District Child Welfare Council participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, Honorary Secretary Mr. Romesh Mahajan gave information about the performance of the council and highlighted that Gurdaspur is the first district in Punjab where the maximum number of child welfare schemes are running.

The coordinator of the organization, Bakshi Raj, presented the agenda of the meeting, during which many important decisions were taken for the safety of children. Such as enhancing the beauty of Bal Bhawan, building a community toilet in the slum area of ​​village Man Kaur, repairing the link road from Pandori Road, action against the use of plastic doors (China doors), weekly raids to stop children begging in the city, assistance of police vehicles, etc.

Apart from this, Shri Parminder Singh Saini was appointed as the Honorary Joint Secretary of the Council. Financial support for the Council will continue as before and the utilization of the unused funds of the Samarpan Society was also considered.

On this occasion, the five newly appointed members of the Punjab Child Welfare Council, Mohit Mahajan, Mrs. Renu Consul, Gurpreet Singh Saini, Krishna Murthy Garg and Amarinder Singh Cheema were honored. The winners of the Punjab level Veer Bal Diwas competition were also given certificates.

Finally, the Project Coordinator thanked the Additional Deputy Commissioner, District Officers and members of the Child Welfare Council Gurdaspur.
