Punjab Desk: MLA of Fazilka, Mr. Narinderpal Singh Sawna, visited several flood-affected villages in the Fazilka constituency late last night, including Jhangar Bhaini, Ram Singh Bhaini, Retewali Bhaini, Gulaba Bhaini, Gatti No. 1, Mahatma Nagar, Teja Ruhela, and Dona Nanaka, to take stock of the situation and interact with the affected residents. During the visit, he distributed cattle feed to the villagers.

Mr. Sawna stated that due to heavy rainfall in the hilly regions, water from the Sutlej river has inundated villages across the Kawaanwali bridge, creating a flood-like situation. He assured the residents that he stands firmly with them and has brought relief materials for their immediate needs.

He further informed that, given the rising water levels, teams from the District Administration—including health, animal husbandry, and other departments—are actively engaged in providing assistance. Additionally, NDRF teams have been deployed, and in case road connectivity to these villages is severed due to rising water, motorboats will be used to maintain contact and deliver aid.

He mentioned that ration supplies and cattle feed have already been distributed to ensure that people and their livestock do not suffer during this natural calamity. In the coming days, motorboats will continue to deliver essential supplies to these flood-affected villages.

Reassuring the villagers, he said that the Punjab Government and District Administration stand firmly by their side during this crisis. He urged residents to contact him directly at 97813-77710 for any assistance and appealed to those living in low-lying areas to evacuate their homes and move to safer locations immediately.

Tehsildar Jaspreet Singh was also present during this visit.
