Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ropar Zone bags State-Level Award

Punjab Desk:  Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ropar has made an outstanding contribution towards farmers’ welfare and the dissemination of modern agricultural technologies. In recognition of these efforts, ICAR–ATARI Zone-1 has honoured KVK Ropar as the Best KVK of Punjab for the year 2025.
The award was presented during the Annual Zonal Workshop organised by ICAR–ATARI Zone-1 at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Jammu, held from December 22 to 24, 2025. The workshop was attended by representatives from 72 KVKs of Zone-1 and 8 Directorates from various universities. Notably, Punjab has a total of 22 KVKs, of which 18, including KVK Ropar, function under the administrative control of the Directorate of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana.
Providing details, Dr. Satbir Singh, Head and Associate Director of KVK Ropar, stated that under his leadership a team of five scientists—Dr. Aparna, Dr. Sanjeev Ahuja, Dr. Ankurdeep Preeti, Dr. Urvi Sharma, and Dr. Jagmanjot Singh—is actively delivering services. He added that the team is strongly supported by three Programme Assistants, along with administrative and support staff.
Dr. Satbir Singh expressed gratitude to ICAR–ATARI Zone-1, Ludhiana, and Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, stating that the recognition has further boosted the morale of the scientists and staff. He reaffirmed the commitment to serving farmers with even greater dedication in the future.
