Starting from the Gurdaspur Municipal Council office, the ADC inspected the sanitation work being carried out by sanitation workers at various city locations including markets, Machhi Market, Hanuman Chowk, Geeta Bhavan Road, Dak Khana Chowk, and Jahaz Chowk.

On this occasion, Dr. Harjinder Singh Bedi directed the sanitation workers to perform their duties with full dedication. He warned that no negligence or laxity in city cleanliness would be tolerated under any circumstances.

The ADC also appealed to the citizens to install separate dustbins for dry and wet waste at their homes and to hand over the waste separately to the sanitation workers. Furthermore, he urged city residents to fully cooperate in maintaining city cleanliness and strictly avoid throwing garbage on roadsides. He also requested them to act responsibly by avoiding the use of plastic bags.

During his visit, the Additional Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the city’s sewerage system. He instructed the officials of the Sewerage Board to pay special attention to cleaning the sewer lines during the rainy season. He further directed the Municipal Council authorities to remove any illegal encroachments in the city markets to ensure smooth traffic flow without any difficulties.
