Committee Formed in Mandi under “Saathi” Campaign
Mandi, 29 MAY 2025 FACTRECORDER
A committee has been formed by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Mandi under the special campaign “Saathi” launched by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA). This campaign will run from May 26 to June 26, 2025, with the objective of identifying destitute (orphaned/abandoned) children who either do not have an Aadhaar card or are facing issues in obtaining one.
Under this campaign, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, and para-legal volunteers will help collect data on such children and submit it to the District Legal Services Authority. Additionally, the District Child Protection Officer has been instructed to conduct a survey of all child care institutions and provide necessary information.
Vivek Kayasth, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority Mandi, stated that the aim of this campaign is to ensure Aadhaar enrollment, provide legal aid, and connect these children with government schemes, so that no child is deprived of legal identity and rights. He appealed to all citizens that if they come across any destitute child, they should immediately inform the District Legal Services Authority Mandi so that the benefits of the Saathi campaign can reach the child.
