Punjab Desk: On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Mr T Benith, the health department Barnala conducted checking of food products at various places in the district in view of the festive season.
Headed by District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Ranjit Singh Rai, the team comprising of Food Safety Officer Charanjit Singh and others conducted checking in the areas of Sadar Bazar Barnala, Sekha Road and Mehal Kalan. The team also put up a naka at the Raikot Road. Eight samples of milk and its products and sweets were collected from various places. The team members also conducted checking of dry ration stored at various places such as dal, rice, flour, besan etc. The shopkeepers were asked to ensure that no contaminated food product was sold to people. He added that the checking will continue.
