Health Desk: The Health Department, Barnala, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Barnala Mr. T. Benith IAS, has issued an advisory for the prevention of diseases caused by mosquito bites. Giving information in this regard, Civil Surgeon Barnala Dr. Baljit Singh said that dengue is a viral disease which is caused by the bite of a mosquito named Aedes aegypti.
Its main symptoms are high fever, pain behind the eyes, red rash on the body, pain in the joints and muscles, vomiting and nausea, etc. If anyone faces this problem, then they should immediately seek treatment in a government hospital as per medical advice.
If anyone is diagnosed with the above symptoms, they should immediately seek medical attention in government hospitals. Treatment of dengue, chikungunya and malaria is provided free of cost in all government health institutions.
He said that to prevent this mosquito-borne disease, people should ensure that they do not allow water to stagnate around them, cover water containers properly, and use mosquito nets.
Giving information about malaria, he said that its main symptoms are fever with chills, sweating after fever, fever on the third day, headache, vomiting, nausea, etc. To prevent this, do not let water stand around the house, pour black oil on the standing water, use mosquito nets and mosquito repellent devices.
Similarly, Chikungunya is also a viral disease that spreads through mosquito bites. Its main symptoms are sudden fever, severe pain in the joints, body rashes, fatigue, etc. He said that to prevent it, stop the breeding of mosquitoes, wear clothes that cover the entire body, do not keep bare hands and feet, use mosquito nets. Do not let water accumulate in or around the house. Water containers, tanks, coolers, etc. can be avoided by drying water sources once a week every Friday. Use mosquito nets or mosquito repellent devices while sleeping at night. Wear long clothes that cover the entire body. Do not leave water sources open and do not let water stagnate.
