Health Department Distributes Chlorine Tablets in Mathura Beli and Dasgrain

Health Desk: A team from the Health Department conducted a site visit to the flood-prone areas of Mathura Beli and Dasgrain, distributing chlorine tablets to the local residents.                                                                                                                                    Dr. Jagjeet Singh, Senior Medical Officer, Kiratpur Sahib, stated that under the directions of Dr. Balwinder Kaur, Civil Surgeon of Rupnagar, teams from the Health Department are continuously visiting areas at risk of flooding to take timely preventive measures and stop the spread of any diseases.

He mentioned that the team visited villages Mathura Beli and Dasgrain, where residents were advised to boil drinking water due to the risk of diseases associated with contaminated water, and were also provided with chlorine tablets.

Block Extension Educator Ratika Oberoi added that at Mathura Beli, Community Health Officer Rano and Multipurpose Health Worker Naresh Kumar, and at Dasgrain, Multipurpose Health Worker Amit Sharma, distributed chlorine tablets to residents.

They also advised people to take precautions such as:

  • Boiling water before drinking,

  • Maintaining cleanliness in and around their homes,

  • Preventing water stagnation,

  • Wearing full-sleeved clothing,
    to protect themselves from mosquito-borne and water-borne diseases.
