Punjab Desk:  Punjab Education, Information and Public Relations Minister Harjot Singh Bains today said that the surroundings of the historic Gurudwara Baba Gurditta Ji had suffered severe damage during the recent rainy season. He informed that with the dedicated efforts of youngsters, local residents, and the Gurudwara management, kaar sewa was initiated to restore the affected areas. “After days of consistent hard work, we have been able to bring relief, and now, strengthening work with concrete materials is underway to protect this holy site,” he added.

Showing his personal commitment to the cause, Mr. Bains contributed ₹50,000 towards fuel expenses for tractors and other vehicles being used in the kaar sewa by local volunteers. He appealed to all well-off individuals, blessed by the Almighty, to step forward and extend support to families affected by the floods.

Highlighting the collective efforts, the Minister shared that his own family, friends, AAP volunteers, panch-sarpanches, and local citizens are actively engaged in relief work. Under the special campaign ‘Operation Rahat’, his team has been reaching every corner of flood-hit areas to provide essential assistance to needy families. Alongside this, a large-scale fogging and disinfectant drive is in progress across affected villages and towns to prevent the spread of diseases.

Mr. Bains informed that one large machine loaded with disinfectant chemicals, five medium machines, and ten smaller units have been deployed to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the region. He urged residents to remain vigilant against diseases like dengue and malaria, which often rise due to stagnant water during this season. “We are fully committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of every person, and anyone in need can reach out through our helpline numbers or at our help desks,” he assured.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude, the Minister thanked local citizens, youngsters, panch-sarpanches, team members, and all volunteers who came forward selflessly and continue to contribute to this noble cause.
