Punjab Desk: As per the guidelines of Civil Surgeon Fazilka Dr. Raj Kumar, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Rohit Goel, and District Epidemiologist Dr. Sunita Bamboj, an anti-dengue campaign was conducted under the leadership of SMO Dr. Sumit Loona (Civil Hospital Jalalabad) and SMO Dr. Ravi Bansal (PHC Jandwala Bhimeshah). The campaign titled “Har Shukravaar, Dengue Te Vaar” was carried out by the Health Department’s NVBDCP Urban Jalalabad Branch, Nagar Council Jalalabad, and a team of nursing students in the areas of Government Hospital, Jammu Basti, and Ward No. 5, Urban Jalalabad. Awareness was spread regarding dengue and malaria, and anti-larval activities were also conducted.
SMO Dr. Sumit Loona, while providing information about dengue and malaria, stated that in case of any fever, one must immediately get tested at the nearest government hospital or Ayushman Arogya Kendra, where free testing for dengue and malaria is available, and medicines are also provided at no cost. He further advised that fridge trays, coolers, flower pots, water tanks, tyres, and all sources of stagnant water should be cleaned at least once a week. The initiative “Har Shukravaar, Dengue Te Vaar” (Every Friday, a war on dengue) should be actively observed.
On this occasion, social worker Ashok Watts, Dr. Jatinder Raj Singh Saini, Pharmacy Officer Kishandeep, Gagan, Malkeet Singh, SLT Arun Bala, Ramesh Kumar Laddi, Mandeep, Kiran Bala, Adesh (MLT), Jaspal Singh Sidhu, Lekh Raj, Gagandeep Kaur (MPHW), Shinderpal Singh, along with the entire staff, nursing students, ASHA workers, helper Rinku Kumar, Sarbjit Singh, and Gurpreet Singh (breeding checker) were present.
