Office of District Public Relations Officer, Faridkot
Faridkot, July 24, 2025
Punjab Desk: Deputy Commissioner Faridkot, Ms. Poonamdeep Kaur, informed that the deadline for the ongoing survey under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), aimed at providing housing assistance to needy families, has been extended by the Government of India. The survey, which was originally set to end on May 31, 2025, will now continue until July 31, 2025.
She stated that the scheme is intended for rural families who do not have a permanent (pucca) house. The survey is being conducted through a mobile application in two ways—assisted and self-survey—using the Awaas Portal 2.0, which is the only authorized platform for this purpose.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the Awaas Portal will be closed after July 31, 2025. Therefore, it is mandatory for all eligible families to get registered through the survey before this date. To ensure this, surveyors appointed by the government are actively conducting surveys in every village.
She appealed to all sarpanches, panches, and residents of the villages to fully cooperate with the surveyors and to encourage eligible families who have not yet registered to do so at the earliest.
Ms. Kaur further shared that a total of 22,376 beneficiary families in Faridkot district have already been uploaded on the Awaas Portal 2.0. For more information, beneficiaries can visit the official website of the Awas Yojana or contact their nearest block office.
